January 29, 2025:
The Thailand Environment Institute (TEI), led by Dr. Wijarn Sima
chaya, Director of TEI, joined forces with Central Retail Group and the Energy Committee of the Thai Chamber of Commerce to kick off the event. The opening remarks were delivered by Khun Sanan Ang-ubonkul, President of the Thai Chamber of Commerce and the Thai Chamber of Commerce Council, along with Khun Pichai Jirathiwat, Executive Director of Central Group and Chairman of the Energy Committee of the Thai Chamber of Commerce. Representatives from both the government and the private sector expressed their commitment to promoting environmentally friendly products through the “Hug the Earth” campaign 💚. This initiative aims to raise consumer awareness of products certified as eco-friendly and to emphasize the importance of sustainable development. The campaign is dedicated to ensuring that all sectors – government, business, and the public – are informed about the efficient use of resources, the reduction of environmental impacts, and the joint effort to create a sustainable future by choosing products that help conserve the environment, ultimately fostering nature-friendly development and long-term sustainability ♻️🔋.
At the event, an exhibition booth showcased the Green Label – Thailand’s primary environmental label. This label serves as a communication tool for both producers and consumers, indicating that products certified with the Green Label are more environmentally friendly compared to similar products 👍.
📌 Overall, promoting eco-friendly products is significant for various reasons: reducing environmental impact, supporting the circular economy, and increasing awareness about environmental conservation. This helps both consumers and businesses understand the consequences of their product choices, enhances brand image, and promotes better health and well-being. In summary, the promotion of environmentally friendly products not only helps mitigate environmental impacts but also fosters sustainable social and economic change 💚🌍.
